The editorial team of Al-Muhafidz: Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir realizes that plagiarism is unacceptable. Therefore, Al-Muhafidz: Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir establishes the following policy stating the specific actions (penalties) in case an act of plagiarism is found in a manuscript submitted for publication in Al-Muhafidz: Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir. Therefore, before submitting an article, Al-Muhafidz: Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir expects all authors to check plagarism with qualified tools independently. If the manuscript is accepted, Al-Muhafidz Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir will conduct a plagiarism check again before the manuscript is published.

Definition:

Plagiarism is the intentional or unintentional act of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or marks for a work either by quoting part or all of the work and/or scientific work of others recognized as one's own, without properly and adequately acknowledging the source.

Based on this definition then,

Manuscripts of articles to be submitted must be original, have never been published, and are not in the process of awaiting publication elsewhere. Material taken verbally from other sources needs to be clearly identified so that it differs from the original text. If plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the manuscript and will approve action according to the level of plagiarism detected, based on the following guidelines,

Level of Plagiarism:

1. Plagiarism tolerance level Al-Muhafidz: Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir is 25%.
2. Plagiarizing some short sentences from other articles without mentioning the source. Action: The author is given a warning and a request to change the text and cite correctly.
3. Plagiarized a large part of another article without proper citation and did not mention the source. Action: The submitted manuscript is rejected for publication in Al-Muhafidz Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir and the author may be sanctioned from publication in Al-Muhafidz: Jurnal Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir

All authors of articles are responsible for the content of the articles they submit. Thus, all authors will be subject to the same action if indicated to commit acts of plagiarism.

If the author is proven to have submitted the manuscript to Al-Muhafidz: Journal of Qur'anic and Interpretation Sciences together with other journals and this is discovered during the review process or after publication, action will be taken according to point 2 and the manuscript will be withdrawn from Al-Muhafidz: Journal of Qur'anic Sciences and Interpretation.

If plagiarism is found outside the provisions mentioned, Al-Muhafidz: Journal of Qur'anic and Interpretation Sciences has the right to impose sanctions at the discretion of the editorial team.
